LKNZ lodge is located in the township of Ohakune, with restaurants and bars, supermarket, rentals and shops all within a 2 minute walk. Situated right on the doorstep of the Tongariro National Park LKNZ provides quality accommodation to suit all budgets, from kitchenette en-suite rooms, flash packer rooms to budget dorm beds spread over three lodges. In winter, Turoa and Whakapapa ski fields are the largest in New Zealand and receive the most annual snowfall on average. In the summer you can Canoe, River Raft, do the Tongariro Crossing, or even climb Mt Ruapehu or Mt Ngauruhoe (better known as Mt Doom these days from the Lord of the Rings).
