I am a landscape photographer specialising on the West Coast and the spectacular South Island of New Zealand. Crafted over the past 30 years, my photographs graphically portray the many moods of the New Zealand wilderness. Now these images are available as limited edition or open edition prints from my gallery in Okarito. Limited edition prints showcase collectible photographs that are limited to editions of 1, 5, 10, and 50 prints. Open edition prints are a selection of affordable works that are not limited to a quantity sold.

There is a selection of 12 Andris Apse landscape books and a television documentary about my photography available on DVD at the gallery. This is the only place where signed Andris Apse books are available.

For 30 years I has been photographing the wilderness areas of New Zealand and its outlying islands. My images have been used extensively to promote New Zealand Internationally. In the year 2000, Lynne and I moved to Okarito, a small coastal village 20 minutes drive from Franz Josef. My love of wild places was the main reason for the move, as at Okarito's doorstep is the most remote and spectacular scenery of South West New Zealand. From there we run a stock library of over 30,000 images that are sold to corporate clients throughout the world.

A recent addition is the Andris Apse Wilderness Gallery. This gallery displays and sells only my prints and books. Because of recent advances in the quality and longevity of print materials and inks, I can confidently sell prints that will stand the test of time. Only archival materials are used. The printing paper is Moab Entrada 290 gms matt surface, PH Neutral, acid and lignin free, 100% cotton. To ensure maximum archival quality Epson Ultrachrome K3 pigmented inks are used. Their superior lightfastness, wide colour gamut and high degree of stability ensures that a print framed using acid free, museum quality materials and museum quality UV glass, will have a display life of up to 150 years.
