Our Sumner B&B is a comfortable 25-30 minute drive from central Christchurch. There are many possible routes, but we recommend:
Head east out of town on Gloucester St (you can join Gloucester St from Madras St, Barbadoes St or from Fitzgerald Ave)
Turn right at the traffic lights onto Linwood Ave (oblique intersection)
Follow the main road for c.10 km to Sumner WARNING. From 6 – 9 Jan 2015 inclusive, between 0900 and 1600 there may be delays of 25 minutes while properties on the higher cliffs are demolished. The detour is likely to be slower than waiting!
