We immigrated to New Zealand from the Netherlands in 2005, arriving in Christchurch and later moving to Marlborough. We fell in love with the scenery and trout fishing of the Wairau Valley, so we settled in this stunning place and decided to open our own B&B.
Fishtail Lodge is named for Mount Fishtail, a local landmark and part of Mt Richmond Forest park (Mike's pointing it out in the image to the left). With its snow-capped peaks in winter, the park forms a beautiful backdrop to the valley of the 147 km-long Wairau River.
Our 2,5 acre flower garden has wonderful views of Mount Richmond.
Mariette loves peonies, as you can see! The flowering season begins in the last week of October and runs through to the end of November, so any quests staying with us at that time of year are in for a treat.
We love sharing this very special place with our guests.
We want you to relax in beautiful mountain view surroundings,
catch a couple of brown or rainbow trout with Mike and let us treat you to the very best hospitality Fishtail Lodge can offer.
