The Kaikoura Marine Centre & Aquarium focuses on awareness, research and conservation of the marine life in the Kaikoura region. It's an affordable, interactive, hands-on research and educational centre for all to enjoy.

At our new location on the New Wharf is a Classroom and planned Canyon Room to teach about the significance of Kaikoura Canyon. See many local species in our Tank Room including carpet sharks, seahorses, an octopus, crayfish, kinas, sea stars, and a multitude of fish.

We strive to be the centre for marine environmental education in Kaikoura, and ultimately New Zealand.
