With shared and private accommodation, YHA Westport is situated in a quiet side street only 100 meters from the Post Office and within easy walking distance to all shopping and evening entertainment.

Originally a stately gentlemen's residence, built in the late 1860's, it is now protected under the NZ Historic Places Trust.

Beautiful gardens, woodwork and intricate pressed tin ceilings create a unique atmosphere. The large common rooms, the fully-equipped kitchen, modern laundry and some accommodation are in the oldest part of the building.

More recent additions provide for double and twin rooms, while a new building with its own toilet and shower block contains five units suitable for families or groups.

YHA Westport caters for the budget conscious independent visitor, as well as families and small to medium size groups. Flexibility with 64 beds over 16 rooms accommodating 2,4,5,6 or 8 persons.
