Darrel and Janice Johnston as proprietors welcome you to the Lumberjack Bar & Cafe, which is situated at Owaka, being the heart of the Catlins Coast. Together with a comprehensive food menu we also serve a variety of hot and cold drinks. While on your journey through the Catlins Coast, make sure you stop and enjoy our hospitality and friendly service. Our café's timber and brick decor makes for a cosy ambience, and a large open fire adds to the welcoming country atmosphere. The family room adjacent provides a great environment for functions and family celebrations.

Our favourite seafood meal is blue cod, which can be panfried or beer battered.
We like to use local beef, and rib-eye steak is very popular, with a choice of 3 sauces.
In addition to the above we also serve venison, chicken, lamb and salmon dishes.
Our burgers are very popular and we have a variety of entrees to go with evening main courses.
We regularly bake muffins and cakes which will add to the pleasure of your trip to Owaka and the Catlins Coast.
The restaurant is open for lunch and evening dining.
