Southern Secret Motel offers affordable units in the heart of the scenic Catlins area, an ideal base for exploring Kaka Point, Nugget Point, Porpoise Bay, the Petrified Forest of Curio Bay and of course in and around Owaka for the many sea lions, seals and famous blowhole.

Southern Secret Motel is surrounded by native bush. Our four units are set in true New Zealand 1960s vintage featuring polished wooden floors, self-contained bathroom and kitchens and wooden windows.

Our location is ideal as a central base for the wider Catlins area, ranging from the bays of the east to the waterfalls and wildlife of the north and south Catlins. We are located in Papatowai, a picturesque seaside village and only three minutes walk to the beach. Our accommodation offers clean accommodation that is unbelievable value for money.
