Paul & Jude McLauchlan warmly invite you to stay with them at Glendeer B & B lodge. Glendeer Lodge is centrally located and lies just outside the township of Timaru on the East Coast of the South Island of New Zealand and halfway between the cities of Christchurch and Dunedin with Christchurch being the main embarkment point for most incoming international flights. My wife and I purpose built Glendeer B&B Lodge in 2005 to cater for visiting guests to New Zealand who wanted a little personal touch while on their holiday/vacation to New Zealand.
As a full time fly fishing guide its great to be able to have this luxury accommodation to complement our guiding operations for our flyfishing guest and of course extend a very warm welcome to all non fishing visitors. For the non fishing clients there are many great activity options to have you choose from, Vineyards, Golf, Horse riding, White water rafting, Hunting, day treks in the mountains or coastal walks and not to forget a little locale shopping, its all there. We also specialize in farm tours of South Canterbury and the McKenzie back country, this is a great way to get off the beaten track if your not a fishing client.
There are three spacious well appointed rooms with quality furnishings, two of the rooms have King Size Beds and come with beautiful private outdoor courtyard settings and the third room has two King Singles, all have their own ensuites with underfloor heating and complimentary toiletries.
Our lodge lies just outside of town thus insuring evening dining is hassle free and if this does not suit, all guest are welcome to use the lodges full kitchen facilities as required. Meals can also be arranged for you at the lodge by prior arrangement.
Over the years while on fishing tours we have had the pleasure of spending allot of time staying at lodges and B and B facilities and have come to learn what operations do tend to complement each other so keeping this in mind we built a completely separate lodgings down stars from our main occupancy upstairs this allowing the guest to have the best of both worlds with a little/lot of privacy and then a little time with the host.
Our main reason for choosing this location for our lodge is its spectacular mountain to ocean views along with this it also has us positioned in the middle of the South Island and the next reason most important to our fishing clients is that lodges built beside the river normally means that that river is heavily fished and a good drive is normally required in order to produce a great day's fishing so with this in mind we have nestled our lodge in the heart of a maze of river and stream systems this giving us over 30 plus rivers at our finger tips to choose from on any given day which really insures a quality fly fishing experience for our anglers in most weather and river conditions.
