Your hosts at Morgan's Vineyard Cafe are father & daughter team David & Amelia French. The name Morgan is special to the family as it is Amelia's middle name & David's late Mother's Maiden name.
David started his career in hospitality in the 60's as an apprentice chef in the UK & subsequently developed his cooking skills in Bermuda, Switzerland, Australia & New Zealand. After spending some thirty years in management, he now returns to his roots and his first love back in the kitchen at Morgan's Vineyard Cafe and fulfilling a dream that he and Amelia have shared for some time to operate their own restaurant.
Amelia, having grown up in the hospitality industry, initially pursued a career in hospitality after leaving school. She commenced an HSI Modern Apprenticeship in Food & Beverage & won the 2007 Modern Apprentice of the Year competition. She also competed successfully in the annual Salon Culinaire at CPIT & at the NZ Culinary Fare. She spent most of 2008 in the UK & gained further experience working for an event & catering company. Amelia upon returning to New Zealand has been studying Commerce & Law at Canterbury University, but is thrilled to have this opportunity of working together with her Dad in putting Morgan's Vineyard Cafe on the map.
Hours of operation:
Brunch - Thursday to Sunday 11am - 3pm
Dinner - Thursday to Saturday from 6pm
